The report highlights the company's commitment to expanding financial inclusion globally with a particular focus on providing small loans to nearly one million unbanked or under-banked borrowers through microfinance institutions in 21 countries. The report also highlights Citigroup's leadership in alternative energy and renewable energy in 2012 with the company providing $8 billion in funding to reach a total of $44.37 billion towards the $50 Billion Climate Initiative. The report also celebrates the company's commitment to its diverse employees and its global expansion of its Employee Network program with the addition of 14 new networks focused on military veterans, women, and older, disabled and LGBT employees. The company also highlights the success of its Citi 200 Global Fitness Challenge which was launched to celebrate the company's 200th anniversary with 45,000 employees from 97 countries signing up for the challenge by year's end.
