Africa Oil Corp 2023 Sustainability Report

The report outlines Africa Oil's approach to ESG management and highlights its key achievements in 2023. The company formalised its ESMS framework, completed a double materiality assessment in preparation for the EU CSRD, and made key appointments to its management team, including the appointment of an HR director and general counsel. In Equatorial Guinea, Africa Oil created a Country Manager position to foster constructive relationships with local stakeholders and contribute to the socio-economic development of the country. The company also achieved a 9% year-over-year reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions, a 31% reduction in flaring, and a 50% reduction in gross flaring emissions.
