The report highlights Evergy's commitment to sustainability, including a 51% reduction in carbon emissions, a 98% reduction in sulfur dioxide emissions, and an 89% reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions since 2005. The company has set a goal to reduce carbon emissions by 70% by 2030 and achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2045. The report also outlines Evergy's efforts to advance its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, including its work to create a forward-thinking, customer-centric, and sustainable energy company. Evergy has also developed a network of charging stations to support electric vehicle drivers, and its Clean Charge Network (CCN) now supports more than 7,000 electric vehicle drivers in its service area. In 2020, Evergy also launched a community impact strategy to focus its resources, including donations, community leadership, volunteerism, and in-kind support. The company also implemented a variety of initiatives to support its employees, including a comprehensive total rewards program that encompasses compensation, benefits, and wellbeing, as well as a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I).
