The report describes the NLM Group's views and approaches regarding CSR to all stakeholders in an easy-to-understand way and to obtain their understandings. The NLM Group recognizes various social challenges described in the core themes of ISO26000 and promotes CSR activities to contribute to the solution of those challenges. The report covers the NLM Group's performance on organizational governance, human rights, labor practices, environment, fair operating practices, community involvement and development and consumer issues. In terms of human rights, the NLM Group conducted written questionnaires on seven items with aluminium refineries, upstream suppliers and bauxite mines to ensure that no circumstances and situations of concern exist. In terms of labor practices, the NLM Group implemented safety sensory education for new hires and in skills education program to increase the field capability. The report also details the NLM Group's efforts on environmental impact management system which includes calculation of greenhouse gas emissions from Scope 1 to Scope 3, and how they are working toward achieving the goals set for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. For fair operating practices, the NLM Group has instituted the Group's management regulations on contained chemical substances in products and prepared manuals that summarise reviews of chemical substances in products and instructions on procedures for certificate issuance. Regarding consumer issues, the NLM Group implemented the independent study group for quality improvement (Hinshitsu Jishuken) to upskill employees and improve the quality of products. The report also includes the NLM Group's contribution to community involvement and development. The NLM Group's social contribution is measured by the amount of social activities and social contribution expenses. It also details the NLM Group's business profile and its sales trends for the last five years.
